Discover, Explore, Envision: Cays Park Master Plan
Discover, explore, and envision the future as the City embarks on the Cays Park Master Plan process. This Master Plan will transform the City's current Cays Park into a signature park that will serve Coronado now and into the future. The community's active participation is vital to the project’s success. As part of the process, True North Research, a public opinion firm, is surveying Coronado residents. If you receive a text, call, or email invitation, please share your ideas about the future of Cays Park. We want to hear from you!

Throughout the summer and fall, there will be many other opportunities for residents to get involved through community meetings and informational booths around town.
Cays Park Tennis & Pickleball Court Reopening Ceremony
Did you know the City’s Tennis and Pickleball Court Resurfacing Project began well ahead of the construction start date this spring? It took months of engagement, a community survey, and meetings with the tennis and pickleball associations to understand the community’s needs. Now, it's time to celebrate the completion of Phase One.

Please join the City on Monday, June 5 at 2:30 pm at Cays Park for the official reopening of the tennis and pickleball courts. We look forward to seeing you there!
Study Looks at Sand Loss Over Entire Coastal Region
As in past years, the City Council recently authorized an agreement with SANDAG for a Shoreline Feasibility Study. This study looks at sand loss over the entire coastal region. The Feasibility Study will look at North, Central and South Beach by the Shores and for the first time, the study will also check for sand loss around Glorietta Bay and Grand Caribe Isle.

This final report will provide important information about sand loss areas in Coronado for future sand replenishment projects. The Feasibility Study will take time and the community will be kept apprised on the progress.
Coronado's Free Summer Shuttle Begins June 11
The City’s free Summer Shuttle will begin service on June 11. The popular service helps residents and visitors get around town during Coronado’s busiest summer season where public parking is limited.

Four brightly wrapped buses will run from June 11 through Labor Day. On July 4, special bus service for Cays residents will once again be offered. As parking is at a premium on the Fourth of July, this free transportation option will provide a convenient alternative to driving for Cays residents. For the Summer Shuttle bus schedules and special hours of operation on July 4, check the Free Summer Shuttle brochure by clicking on the "learn more" icon below.

Parker Pump Station Construction Update
Work is progressing on the City’s $26 million investment to replace the existing aging Parker Pump Station with a new pump station. This critical infrastructure, located at Eighth Street and Coronado Avenue, is responsible for collecting stormwater and sanitary sewer flows.

Recently, the City and its contractor streamlined an installation process to support the planned excavation perimeter alignment, resulting in a faster install process, thus minimizing noise to the neighborhood during that phase of the construction. The installation was completed on May 26 and the City appreciates the neighborhood’s patience and cooperation during that time. The construction crews will now focus on the excavation.
