Our Deacons' Offering: MNA Disaster Response
On Sunday we will have an opportunity to give to our deacons' special offering following communion. This month the deacons' special offering is for MNA Disaster Response.

Mission to North America’s (MNA) Disaster Response allows Christ Covenant to partner with other churches in the PCA in both immediate and long-term outreach to those who are impacted by catastrophic damage caused by natural disasters or mass destruction in the US and Canada. This vital mission is accomplished through disaster preparedness awareness & training in advance of disaster events and by providing support in response to disaster events. Preparedness training is conducted regularly through local and PCA-wide events.

MNA Disaster Response provides support to PCA churches (households of faith) in disaster-affected communities through a network of staff and volunteer damage assessment teams, first response teams, site managers, and key leaders. MNA recruits and mobilizes volunteers, receives and distributes supplies and equipment, brings awareness of specific needs, channels recovery funds, focuses prayer and provides spiritual encouragement to our PCA family and their communities.

Volunteers are needed to respond quickly in short-term and long-term recovery efforts after a disaster. They can help as general volunteers for an immediate response that can include tree and debris removal, chainsaw work, tarping roofs, handing out blankets and helping provide warm meals. Or as longer-term key leader/coordinators and site managers who assess needs for rebuilding and support for local congregations as they minister to their neighbors.

If you are interested in being a volunteer, volunteer registration is open every day all throughout the year. You can register at any time by filling out the application at https://resources.pcamna.org. Whenever volunteers are needed, members of the volunteer team are notified and details of the service opportunity are published at www.pcamna.org. Volunteer registration includes a background screening. This background screening does not commit the individual to serve but simply clears the individual to serve. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old. No matter what our age or availability to be part of a volunteer team, everyone in our congregation can be involved by supporting disaster relief efforts with our prayers.

Pray for the congregations in impacted communities. Pray for loving ministry to neighbors and opportunities for volunteers to share the gospel as they offer help in cleanup and rebuilding. Pray for God to use our disaster response for his glory. Pray for resources to meet the need for response no matter how many events may occur this year. Praise God for the ways he has used MNA’s Disaster Response to care for his children.

Our gifts today through the deacons’ offering will be put to work immediately to assure that MNA is able to respond as needed during hurricane season and well beyond. 100% of donations to MNA Disaster Relief are used for victim assistance. To learn more, go to https://pcamna.org/disaster-response or contact our Outreach & Missions office.

Please place all special/monthly communion offering gifts in an envelope (found in pews) and label it ‘Special Communion Offering’ and include the name of the ministry before placing your gift in one of the tithe boxes located inside the sanctuary at our main doors in the north, south and toward the main lobby. You can also give online by clicking here. Thank you for your gift!
Christ Covenant Welcomes the
Southern Africa Reformed Mission
This weekend Christ Covenant welcomes our brothers from Malawi, Zimbabwe, and South Africa for our first Southern Africa Reformed Mission (SARM) gathering. These 10 African nationals include pastors, church planters, and apprentices in training along with our Mission to the World (MTW) friends, Victor Nakah (International Director of Sub-Saharan Africa) and Tim Galage who serves as the Southern Africa Regional Director. They will be with us for a few days to give them a platform in the United States to cast their vision for church planting, theological education, campus ministry, and the building of stronger connections between developing presbyteries in these 3 countries. We have invited several other PCA churches to come and hear their stories and to potentially partner with them in planting and developing heathy churches in Southern Africa.

Please take the opportunity to greet them, ask them questions, and encourage them after the service in the main lobby. Please be praying that this gathering will prove fruitful in establishing long-lasting partnerships, resource sharing, prayer, and relationships.

• Victor Nakah - MTW International Director of Sub-Saharan Africa from Johannesburg, South Africa
• Stephen Murray - Pastor of Union Chapel in Cape Town, South Africa
• Mitch Spence - Pastor of Living Hope Church in Bullawayo, Zimbabwe

No Summer Sunday School
There will not be Sunday School June 4 through August 20. Sunday School will resume on August 27, 2023. This is a new rhythm for us as a church, which allows a rest for our teachers and volunteers, especially in the children’s area.
Invitation from Children's Ministry

'O Nights' - Christ Covenant Church Outreach
Tuesday, June 6
Everyone is invited to join us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month for Christ Covenant Outreach Nights, called O Nights. Our next one is this Tuesday, June 6, from 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm. One O Night per month will be outreach/evangelism in the community with people going into different sections of the community to share their faith. The other O Night each month will have some time of training to equip our people, but for those that are comfortable with evangelism and don’t need the training, they will still have the option of going out to do surveys/evangelism.

Our desires are to provide different spaces where we can learn more about our community while at the same time care for people, take steps of faith to engage others, and avail ourselves to opportunities to share the gospel. It also gives us the opportunity to serve together, pray for our community, and see God work in another way.

We will meet in the south lobby of the worship center. If you do not feel comfortable walking, we would love for you to participate by praying on our campus. Please bring your small group, family, etc. and join us! If you have any questions, contact Michelle Gustavson at mgustavson@christcovenant.org.
If you crochet or knit, Children’s Ministry needs you!
Did you know that the Children’s Ministry delivers a baby basket to each new baby born to our congregation? In each of those baskets is a blanket handmade by one of our members. Right now we have more babies coming than we have blankets! If you love to knit or crochet and would be willing to share your gift with the families of our congregation, would you reach out to Mindy at mthornton@christcovenant.org? We would love to partner with you to bless our littlest ones!
