Walking in a Winterfest Wonderland

It was an extraordinary and festive evening at our second annual Winterfest and Alumnae Christmas Party. There were smiles on every face! The festivities featured an ice carving, Santa's reindeer, music from the Regina Choral Ensemble, pop-up shops, and more! We truly enjoyed ringing in the Christmas season with our amazing community of students, families, alumnae, and friends.

Honoring the Franciscan Tradition of Service with the Thanksgiving Food Drive

At our annual Thanksgiving Prayer Service, we were blessed to have the St. Patrick’s Choir along with 6 local charities- Capuchin’s Soup Kitchen, St. Isidore Infant Needs Ministry, St. Leo Soup Kitchen, Our Lady of the Rosary Food Assistance Program, St. Margaret of Scotland Food Pantry, and St. Patrick’s Senior Center- join us for this celebration. Our Thanksgiving Food Drive provided these organizations with food and supplies for their pantries this winter. We thank all who donated to this effort so that we could bless these charities and the local communities they serve!

Legally Blonde: The Musical

The Regina Players performed Legally Blonde: The Musical and it was a smashing success! We are so very proud of the students involved in this production. During the closing performance, we raffled off a Tiffany necklace - just like the one Elle Woods wears in the movie! Stay tuned for the announcement of their spring production.

65th Blue & White Gala Celebration

In November, we hosted the Blue and White 65th Anniversary Gala! It was a truly delightful celebration of the school's history. We are blessed to have such an amazing community of alumnae, staff, students, and supporters who love Regina and believe in our mission. The event featured a 360-degree photo booth, live music from 1994 alumna, Chiara Clayton, decade-themed hors d'oeuvres, and Regina memorabilia highlighting our school’s 65-year legacy!

Junior Ring Ceremony

In early November, we held our annual Junior Ring Ceremony Mass celebrated by Fr. Ron Victor. The Class of 2023 received their rings and had them blessed. This special celebration makes our Saddlelites feel connected to the school and all of the alumnae who have participated in this tradition throughout our 65 years!

Pawsome Celebration at Regina

In honor of the Feast of St. Francis, we celebrated our tenth annual Blessing of the Animals, sponsored by Regina’s St. Clare Franciscan Society. We had plenty of adorable pets who visited the school and received a blessing from Deacon McLeod. It was so much fun for members of the Regina family to gather together with their furry friends and Saddlelite sisters!

The 4th Annual March Plaidness Alumnae Giving Competition is back and we are excited to see who will come out as this year’s winner! We have been overjoyed to see the participation in this competition over the last few years, and we hope this year will be no different so we can keep making a difference for our current and future Saddlelites. Last year, as a result of our competition-high $34,270, we were able to award TEN $3,000 scholarships to current Saddlelites. We challenge your class to participate this year so we can keep increasing that number! Our first round will officially begin on Monday, March 21, and because we have had so many classes participating, our bracket will look a little different this year. Instead of only 16 classes advancing to the second round, 32 classes will advance – more time for your class to stay in the competition and for a chance to win! So, Saddlelites, mark your calendars for March 21st for the 4th Annual March Plaidness Giving Competition. Our winners in the past have been 1978 (x2) and 1994 – could it be your class this year?

Dear Regina Family,

Over the last two years, it seems nearly every aspect of our lives has changed. The pandemic has pushed Regina High School to be creative with our planning, flexible with continuous guideline changes, and relentlessly in our commitment to our young women in faith, education, and life skills.  Like everyone, we faced challenges, surmounted exhaustion, navigated loss, longed for laughter in person, and were profoundly reminded of the power of the Regina family.

I have never been more humble - or proud - to lead Regina High School. I am so thankful for our tenacious and dedicated faculty and staff, the students and the families who trust us to be part of their lives, and you- our incredible Regina family members who have stood by us and with us through it all. Thank you! Your encouragement and support have been a beacon.

Together, we have remained focused on strengthening families to create brighter futures for our future leaders of tomorrow. We thank you again. Wishing you an amazing 2022 full of love, laughter, and endless amounts of joy.

Saddlelite Blessings,

Mary Treder Lang, CPA, CGMA
