"In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, He made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!”

-- Philippians 2:5-8

Our campus Christmas tree has been transformed into our Lenten cross.

Dear fellow alumni,

Every year around this time, we have a Chapel series on relationships, focusing on Christ’s perfect love, and applying the Word to love and dating. There’s usually an informative (and sometimes hilarious!) Q & A session with faculty and staff panelists answering students’ questions.

It comes down to this: Christ is the foundation for all relationships, and He is the only One to get it perfect!

Paul’s relationship advice in Philippians 2:5-8 tells us to have the same mindset as Christ Jesus. Serve, love, be humble and obedient. It is impossible for us to achieve relationship perfection this side of heaven, but in Christ Jesus, we are made perfect and holy through His obedient death and resurrection for us!

We are grateful for alumni like you who pray, give, volunteer, refer and recruit for Concordia. Scroll on down for specific projects and events to keep doing just that! Need help figuring out where we could use you the most? Have some great ideas for CUAA? I’d love to hear from you!

Praying this season of Lent brings us closer to Christ, and to each other.

Alumni can sponsor finals survival kits

for CUAA international students!

The Concordia Guild, a service organization for CUAA that has been raising scholarship funds and supporting students, staff, and faculty since the 1960s, is seeking alumni to help sponsor "Survival Kits" for 17 international students on the Ann Arbor campus. The sponsorship cost of each kit is $15 and 100 percent of it will support the Concordia Guild Scholarship fund.

These gifts can make a difference in two ways. First, your thoughtfulness shares the love of Christ with international students who are far from home during finals week. They would appreciate your caring support. Second, ordering a kit also contributes to the Concordia Guild Scholarship Endowment.

Click here to give online. Choose “other” from the drop-down menu, and type “survival kits for international students” in the special instructions box. Questions? Contact the Concordia Guild at ConcordiaGuild@cuaa.edu; 734.995.7509. Thank you!

Final Thought from

Campus Pastor Randy Duncan

Each morning during the school year, our campus pastor, Randy Duncan, sends out an email full of inspirational thoughts, concepts to ponder, scripture, and prayer requests. We thought we would share some of his thoughts with you each month for us to contemplate.
