Congratulations Chief Linda Stump-Kurnick.

Congratulations to Linda Stump-Kurnick, Assistant Vice President and Chief of UFPD for being named one of this year’s higher education and healthcare Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Thank you, Officer Williams.

Kudos to Officer S. Gerard Williams for his pivotal role in cracking a case. During an event, Officer Williams spotted a group of bicycles locked together, one of which matched the description of a stolen bicycle the Criminal Investigations Division had been trying to locate. Due to Officer Williams’s keen observations, he recovered the stolen bicycle and provided detectives with a break in the case.

Officer Williams has been with UFPD since 2012. He is a member of the Honor Guard, a RAD (women’s self-defense) Instructor, and a Bike Officer. He is also a certified Law Enforcement Mountain Bike Instructor, teaching other officers the skills needed to be a bicycle-certified officer.
