GREAT POWER

Just before his ascension back to heaven’s throne, Jesus told His gathered followers (about 400) in Acts 1:8, “…ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me…”

The purpose of our witness is to win souls to Jesus. After the Holy Ghost outpouring in Acts 2:4 this power was demonstrated. On that day of Pentecost, 3,000 people were saved (Acts 2:41) and about a day or so later another 5,000 were saved (Acts 4:4).

This Holy Ghost outpouring was a baptism of power. Tongues were the physical manifestation, but the spiritual manifestation was the purpose for it. Manifested were (1) souls saved which amounted to about 8,000 in about two days, and (2) miracles, signs and wonders (the lame man of Acts 3).

Jesus was given all power in earth and the heavens by Father. He has given that authority to us through His name. The Holy Ghost baptism of power is how we access all His power. The nine gifts of the Holy Spirit are the outworking of that power.

When I was a child, our Pentecostals were caught up in seeking the tongues instead of the power of the Holy Spirit to work in us. I realized when I was 23 the discrepancy in our focus. I needed His power to minister for Him. That is when I truly received it.

Folks, please do not seek the tongues. Seek the fullness of Jesus’ power; the tongues will follow. You can then fulfill Jesus words of John 14:12 where He said, “…He that believeth on Me, the works that I (now) do shall he do also and greater works than these shall he do…”

After the apostles and believers were baptized in the Holy Ghost Acts 4:33 says, “and with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.”

This Holy Spirit baptism of power is so that we can be the most effective workers for the Kingdom of heaven and for Christ.

OUTPOURING OR HARVEST?

Many are looking for an outpouring of the Spirit. Jesus is looking for those that are harvesters. In Matthew 9:37-38 Jesus said,37 Then saith he unto his disciples, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

So, what is the difference between an outpouring and a harvest. The outpouring happened at Pentecost. The Holy Spirit was poured out on all flesh as it was prophesied in the book of Joel. We read in Joel chapter 3:28-29 which says, 28 And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.  29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.”

Peter quoted these verses in Acts 2:16-19 after Pentecost had fully come and those in the upper room were filled with the Holy Spirit. They came out of that room filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke with other tongues. This outpouring caused over 3,000 souls to come to Christ. Acts 1:8 spoken by Jesus, told the disciples that this would give them the power to be witnesses. After Pentecost, the disciples went house to house daily and added to the church. The church multiplied rapidly because of this outpouring of the Holy Spirit. It touched many and touched and changed people including Saul of Tarsus, who was later called Apostle Paul. This outpouring is still happening today when people witness, and salvation is received.

The Harvest is different from the outpouring. The harvest is when Jesus comes back for those that are his, and reaps them into his kingdom. This is the result of an outpouring, not the outpouring itself.

We must not get caught up in any “outpouring.” We should be most concerned that we help bring the harvest in by witnessing and leading lost souls to Christ. When Jesus returns Matthew 24:31 says that he will, “…send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect (those that are chosen by God and have received Christ) from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” This is the great harvest where Jesus receives us unto himself.

Jesus wants every single one of us to go into the field and be harvesters, filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered by God to win souls unto Jesus. Let’s pray that any move of God brings souls into the kingdom so they can be received unto Christ.  That’s God’s heart. Harvesttime.

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

2-22-2023

You are an original so don't try to imitate anyone other than Jesus. Don't listen to naysayers that discourage you and cause you to doubt that you have a purpose. Breathe - Live - Be all that God intended you to be for his kingdom. Then there are no regrets.

APOSTLE PAT MURRAY

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

2-21-2023

We’ve all known those folks who say they want fruit in their lives; And they will tell you how they’re really needing an answer to prayer. However, it’s rather obvious by their actions that most aren’t willing to go out on the limb to get it. In other words if anyone sincerely wants or needs a prayer answered; Then they’re gonna have to take a leap of faith and put some legs on their prayers…IF they ever expect to receive anything from God. So if you’re reading this and you really need a prayer answered; Then the best thing you can do is…Begin to consistently speak faith over the situation you’re facing…As well as to surround yourself with faith filled, faith talking, faith walking, faith producing people. Have a blessed day and you keep on reaching and keep on believing; For it is only the FAITH that never QUITS...That always WORKS…And WINS for you.

Why do I Cry Lord? HCC

Why do I cry Lord, with poems I write?

Is it that you're close to me,

As you tell me what to write?

The words I put down on a page,

As tears roll down my face.

They come from you, my Savior Lord,

Then you wipe my tears away.

How blessed I am, to have you so close to me.

                   I pray for others,

So, they will have this chance, this opportunity,

To sit with you, whatever they do,

                   Wherever their life will be.

I pray for others, that they see the face I see.

This Christ that waits in Eternity.
