Arapahoe County Dates and Deadlines Document Updated


In order to keep our 4-H families and volunteers informed on 4-H dates and deadlines, the 4-H team has created a document containing an updated list of county-wide dates and deadlines for the 4-H year. This document will be continuously updated and a link will be included in the newsletters and on the Arapahoe County 4-H Member Resources webpage. Click on the image to the left to view the document.

The 4-H Foundation would like to thank the 4-H Clubs and members for a very successful record setting wreath and evergreen fund raiser this year. 

4-H members sold a total of 448 items for $12,081.00.  The total amount earned will be announced as soon as expenses have been paid. Member and club incentives were given to each 4-H club organizational leader/wreath chair for distribution. 

 

Congratulations to those 4-H members listed below who won the high individual sale incentives.

Shooting Sports

Are you interested in becoming a 4-H Certified Shooting Sports Leader?! The Arapahoe County 4-H Shooting Sports Project is in need of additional volunteers to help support the growing program! We are trying to offer more practices, events, and other activities but need dedicated volunteers who are willing to get involved. This is an incredible opportunity to support a rapidly growing project in the Arapahoe County 4-H Program. This includes trainings, coaching, and developing connections with other leaders from across the state! If you are interested, please email Ethan at ecahill@arapahoegov.com for more information!

The path to finding your spark starts with exploration. Join us on Saturday, January 21 from 9am to Noon in the Parks Meeting Rooms at the Riverdale Regional Park in Adams County (9755 Henderson Road, Brighton) to learn more about the Creative Cooks Contest. During this hands-on workshop, you will have the opportunity to make garnishes, learn more about nutrition, learn napkin folding and ideas for themes - all pieces that are part of the contest.

4-H Creative Cooks Contest

The Creative Cooks contest is a fun contest where you can learn more about and be creative with meal planning. You select a theme, prepare food and create a table setting around your chosen theme. In this contest you use your knowledge of nutrition, meal planning, and food preparation in a creative way

The Front Range Regional 4-H Creative Cooks Contest is open to any 4-H member, between the ages of 5 and 18, who enjoy cooking. Members must be enrolled in 4-H in one of the following counties: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson, Larimer or Weld. Members can participate as an individual, team or club. Arapahoe County 4-H Foundation Scholarships Available


The 2023 Arapahoe County 4-H Foundation Scholarship application is available. Shaylen sent an email out to 4-H members who are seniors in high school on 12/5. You may also access the application by clicking on the image to the left. The applications are due to our office on 2/1/23. Late applications will not be accepted so get yours completed and turned in, the sooner the better!

Scholarships Available


Colorado 4-H awards scholarships annually to outstanding youth who have actively engaged in Colorado 4-H clubs for at least 3 years. The scholarship process is open through March 1, 2023. Scholarship recipients will be announced in late April/early May 2023. There are opportunities available for all kinds of students, including those attending CSU or other universities, trade schools or junior colleges, transfer students, and continuing students. We encourage our 4-H participants to apply - there is over $50,000 available in funding this year!
