VALLEJO, CA – The City of Vallejo Fire Department is re-launching its First Responder Fee program. The revamped notice to patients makes it clear that the program will only collect fees from insurance companies of the patients who are assessed or treated by Vallejo firefighters. Citizens are not required to pay any portion of the fee.
City Council approved an agreement with Medic Ambulance in May 2021 to provide First Responder Fee billing services. Medic Ambulance will collect patient and insurance information and assume the responsibility of working with insurance companies to collect the fees as set by the Master Fee Schedule and approved by City Council each year.
