Minors Rights to Confidential Care Are at Risk In Arizona!
House Bill 2161 is being heard this coming Tuesday in the Senate Education Committee. This bill as it currently stands states the parent of a pupil has the right to access and review all written and electronic medical records of a minor child including those originating from a medical provider, school, or school district. This right includes medical records for services not requiring parental consent.

This bill does not reflect the diversity of family situations we have in Arizona. Some teens feel safer seeking confidential care from a medical professional. In those circumstances, we are only harming kids by denying them access to informed medical professionals in a setting that is safe and confidential.
Please share this information. Your help today makes for a better Arizona!
