What we have been up to:

Over 75% of children in the state have both parents in the workforce. This is the highest level in the US, and one of the driving factors behind Iowa's child care crisis. See our publication on "Mapping Vulnerability in Iowa's Early Childhood Systems" for a look at Iowa's early childhood population.

Children born with higher levels of birth risks are less likely to successfully complete home visiting programs. Check out our data brief on Program Outcomes and Birth Risks in Home Visiting for more information on what Iowa home visiting programs can do to reach children and families in need of services.
Child care centers face many challenges. In a statewide survey, centers expressed challenges such as staff recruitment and retention, issues with facilities, and child to staff ratios. See the brief on Themes in Iowa's Child Care Conversation
