Event Details
Lake Berryessa, June 3
Hosted by Davis Aquatic Masters (DAM), the Annual Lake Berryessa Swim is one of the longest running open water swim events in America. Started in 1981 as a friendly lake swim, this event now attracts over 500 swimmers each year. Choose either a 1-mile or a 2-mile looped swim in a freshwater lake with an expected water temperature of 65-70 degrees. Information and Registration

QuickSilver Fast and Free LCM Meet, June 17
Offering 50s and 100s of each stroke, plus the 200 IM, and the 200 and 400 Freestyle events, this is a fun, well-run affair held at Gunderson High School in San Jose. Start time is 9AM; no same-day entries allowed. Information and Registration

Distance Butterfly Virtual Challenge, May 1-June 30
The Albany Aquatics sponsored Butterfly Challenge has begun! Swim a 500, 1000, or 1650 fly for time in any SCY, LCM, or SCM pool. Step it up a notch and try all or any combination of those events. Compare your times to others throughout our LMSC and even USMS. Information and Registration

USMS 2K Summer Fitness Challenge, June 1-30
Put yourself to the test with the 2K Summer Fitness Challenge from June 1-30. This is the second event in the Swim.com USMS Fitness Series. Complete a 2K in open water, pool swim, as a relay, or with fins. Information

Donner Lake Open Water Swim, August 12
Spend a Saturday swimming 2.7 miles in the 42nd Annual Donner Lake Swim. Over a mile high, the lake sits at 5933 ft. with the estimated water temperature between 65 and 68 degrees. This event is limited to the first 450 participants, and usually fills up very quickly. Make your plans now.
Registration opens on June 1, 8:30 AM.

USMS 5K or 10K Virtual Championship, May 15 - September 15
Go the extra distance this summer with the 2023 USMS 5K/10K Virtual Championships to be held May 15 – Sept. 15. All participants will receive a cool latex event cap. Clubs with the most participants can win up to $300 plus tons of prizes from our partners.

Your Photos Needed to Celebrate Pacific Masters Swimming

Pacificmasters.org is a rich source of information about our local organization and our sport. We seek to keep the content fresh, timely, and focused on our activities and athletes. Photos are a large part of what keeps the site interesting, and we welcome contributions from our members.

If you have photos to share for posting on our website, please send JPEG files of at least 1MB to [email protected]. Proportions for the banner images are 3.5x10 but all images can be cropped. Identify yourself and any pertinent information about the photos: location, event, date, activity, and where you think the image may belong on the site.

Pacific Masters Monthly Meeting
Wednesday, May 17, Doors open at 6:45, Meeting begins at 7:00 PM

Join us Wednesday, May 17, for our monthly meeting via the Zoom platform. If this is your first time Zooming, we suggest you sign on a little early to ask questions and address technical issues. Even if you are familiar with Zoom, sign on early to say "hi" to your fellow swimmers.

Pacific Masters has a rich and diverse membership. Hear from Lisa Carboni, a member of Marcia's Enthusiastic Masters of Oakland (MEMO) and the South End Rowing Club, about her love of swimming despite an obvious challenge:
"My challenge is obvious. I am missing my lower right leg. But, I don’t let this stop me. I tapped into my love of swimming and started swimming competitively on a summer recreational team at age nine..."

USMS Spring Nationals Recap
The Largest Nationals Championships Ever!

Nearly 2500 competitors swam at the Woollett Aquatic Center in Irvine, April 27-30. With all that competition, we are proud to announce that The Olympic Club (TOC) triumphed, accumulating the highest number of points overall, nationwide. Congratulations to one and all!

USMS Championships is a chance to celebrate our sport with inspiring performances, gauge our current swimming aptitude, reunite with lifelong friends and explore new places. Seeing old friends and making new ones is part of the allure. Read more.
