Pictured above: Georgia Louise Harris Brown (1918–1999), a pioneering African American architect practicing in Chicago and Brazil from the 1940s to the 1990s, is recognized as the second African American woman licensed as an architect in the United States. Black or African American women continue to make up less than 1% of the total architect population in the United States.
A collaborative supervised after school program between WUCNetwork and Birmingham Parks & Recreation for children ages 5 and higher. YT4Life has a tool, home repair/life repair youth curriculum and the program is held at two afterschool inner city sites.
