A Message from the Director
Misty Brucker

This is my third blog of our Ultimate Team series, and I’m so excited to continue our discussion on creating high performing teams. All of Team PPMC has read one of my favorite management books, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, by Patrick Lencioni, which provides a roadmap to creating a culture where not only the work thrives, but so do the people. Thank you for going on this journey with us.

The third dysfunction of any team is a “lack of commitment.” Let’s dive in.

Commitment to the team is different than commitment to the work. We all know people that are skilled workers, but not good team members. Commitment to the team is a shared responsibility for the work, reputation, and success of the team. The commitment comes back to the purpose of the work and holding each other accountable to high standards. This is NOT just the responsibility of a leader. Yes, the leader sets the expectations, but it takes the entire team...
PPMC Updates
Projects & Initiatives
  • City Clerks & Municipal Finance Officers | The Talent Team pulled off an excellent fall conference season, including the Kansas/IIMC Municipal Clerks Certification Institute and Master Municipal Clerks Academy this month in Wichita.

  • Wichita Literacy Coalition | Team PPMC had a fantastic meeting with our Wichita Literacy Coalition partners on Nov. 23. What a great crew of folks who are helping our communities become stronger through early childhood literacy.

  • Team PPMC & Patrick Lencioni Live! | The Team got to hear from Patrick Lencioni at the Wichita Chamber's 2021 Annual Meeting last week. We're now all obsessed with our Working Geniuses and analyzing how we get our energy!
PPMC in the News
Check out KSN TV's coverage of the High Utilizers Study the PPMC conducted in 2019. That's the voice of our very own Dr. Dulcinea Rakestraw, along with interviews of some awesome community partners - Robyn Chadwick and Joan Tammany - discussing the high cost of crisis care processes in our communities.

We're excited that this study spurred the creation of the Mental Health & Substance Abuse Coalition in order to help mitigate some of these process challenges for crisis care. We're determined to work together to find efficiencies for our community. Stay on the look out for more updates from the Mental Health & Substance Abuse Coalition.
