A Workshop for Parents and Teens on the Autism Spectrum
A Four Session Virtual Workshop Series

This workshop series is designed for parents and teens transitioning from high school who are interested in options and developing a road map. Each session is designed to engage parents and will include hearing the perspective of ta teen and a young adult in this phase in their lives.
Our Expert Speaker/Facilitator:
Lisette Duarte is a long-time education advocate. As a parent raising two young adults with special health needs on the autism spectrum, she developed a passion for working with underserved and marginalized communities of color. She has led advocacy campaigns, has served on school district leadership committees, and is a fierce advocate on issues ranging from disabilities, anti-bullying, and bilingual education to family engagement, education equity, and narrowing achievement gaps. Lisette has dedicated her life to empowering families and supporting them in finding their voice and using it to ensure all students have access to a high-quality education.


Elise Duarte is a 17-year-old artist on the autism spectrum who aspires to be makeup artist. Her goal is to pursue a mortuary cosmetology program. She has recently started in Self-Determination and is working closely with Regional Center and the Department of Rehabilitation.


Enrique Duarte is a 22-year-old musician. Alongside his mother, he has developed a passion for self-advocacy and peer-advocacy. He is currently completing his AA degree to transfer to a music program. He
completed the Herb Albert School of Music Jazz Program at LACC. He has interned teaching beginning guitar to middle schoolers on the autism spectrum through the Paid Internship Program. He is currently performing in the local Los Angeles music scene.
