December News and Updates from the Office of Alumnae Relations
Letter from the President

Dear Alumna,

As I reflect on this season of giving, I am overwhelmed with your generosity and support of our beloved school. On November 29, our alumnae and the Catholic High community helped us exceed our National #GivingTuesday fundraising goal for the fourth year in a row! In addition, students, faculty, staff, and alumnae donated toys, coats, and non-perishable items for the Belair-Edison community's Christmas Event held on our Western Campus last Saturday.

The month of December surely filled my heart with pride. On December 1, we received news that Catholic High was named Best Private High School (Girls) 2022 by the Baltimore Style Readers' Choice Awards! We are thrilled at the news as this marks the first time in school history that Catholic High has received this award. This honor is a reflection of the hard work and support of the entire Catholic High community, including our loyal alumnae, students and their families, outstanding faculty and staff, generous donors, Board of Trustees, and the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia.

And may you continue to bring joy to those you encounter and to be embraced by the Franciscan values learned and lived at Catholic High through the decades. I encourage you to read through our Alumnae Update to catch up on the many activities that took place in December, and as always, I welcome you back to Catholic High in 2023 for our various school activities and alumnae events.

I wish you and your loved ones a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Lux Tua Luceat,
Barbara D. Nazelrod, Ph.D. '68
President

NEHI December Food and Toy Drive
Thanks to our amazing school community, Catholic High assisted NEHI with their third annual Holiday Event held on our campus! Students, faculty, staff, and alumnae donated toys, coats, gift cards, and non-perishable items that filled our hallways before the event on Saturday, December 17. We put together bags of non-perishable items for those in our neighboring community this Christmas season. Children were also able to pick a toy of their choice for Christmas! Thank you, alumnae, for your generous donations to make this another successful event!
