Dear Blair,

As we turn the page on 2022, Newton Community Pride welcomes the new year with excitement and gratitude for our donors, artists, and event attendees. We thank you for making this past year so fun and impactful. We loved bringing free and accessible programming and public art to our village centers - WinterFEST, the Sit and Let Your Spirit Soar public art installation, the Linda Plaut Festival of the Arts, and the Fall Village Concert Series.

In addition to NCP free events and public art, we love the opportunity to support the city with almost $35,000 in community grants for Parks, Recreation & Culture programming, micro grants for individual artists, neighborhood groups and organizations, and award the Nancy Quint Schön Arts Scholarship to 3 high school students to foster the next generation of Newton artists.

Won't you please help our 2023 planning with a year-end donation today? We are excited to report that we received a call from an anonymous donor yesterday who will match donations up to $2,500 if received by midnight on December 31st!  We hope you will join our family of supporters with a tax-deductible year-end donation today and help our small nonprofit produce another impactful year of public art and family-friendly programming.

Celebrate NewtonCall For Art

Deadline Approaching

Attention artists! We know the holiday season is busy, but don't forget about this exciting opportunity to participate in Celebrate Newton. The deadline for submissions is January 17, 2023. Newton Community Pride is currently seeking creative, bold, and vibrant designs from local and regional artists to be reproduced on banners, for the public art initiative, Celebrate Newton. These banners will be hung in several village centers and along several major thoroughfares throughout the city. Banner designs should be Newton-specific and celebrate the culture, history, diversity, values, and/or beauty of the City of Newton.  We look forward to this year's public art initiative to enliven and brighten our city, inspire civic pride, and introduce more art into our public spaces.

More information, deadlines, and official rules can be found HERE. Artists selected through this juried initiative will receive an honorarium of $1,800.

Newton Community Pride is grateful to our Presenting Sponsor, The Village Bank, and for support from the City of Newton Parks, Recreation & Culture Department.

Thank You to our 2022 Major Sponsors!
