Ray-Pec Community,

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has designated February as Career and Technical Education (CTE) month. Through CTE programs and opportunities, we share a common vision with DESE to make a difference for students and prepare them “for postsecondary success – whether that be entering the workforce, obtaining an industry-recognized credential, or attending a two-year or four-year college.”

At Ray-Pec, we are hard at work developing the LEAD Center. LEAD stands for Learning, Experiences, And Discovery. The Ray-Pec LEAD Center will be an exciting place for students to explore career paths, gain employable experiences, participate in exciting new styles of learning, or explore their interests in a variety of technology opportunities.

In addition, we are already able to offer students a wide variety of CTE experiences through cooperation with the Cass Career Center, Southland Center for Advanced Professional Studies, and Summit Technology Academy. Our students have opportunities through these programs to pursue experiences in fire fighting, welding technology, agribusiness, emergency medical technology, criminal justice, aerospace engineering, digital electronics, software development, turf management, and a host of others. The LEAD Center will only add to the opportunities our students will have.

Whether you already have a student in high school, or one who is at our middle or elementary/pre-K schools, the opportunity he/she has to explore areas of individual interest is an extremely important part of what we offer, both with current and future course work.

Thank you for your support that makes opportunities like these possible for our students. This is an outstanding community.

Thank you for entrusting your children to the Ray-Pec School District.
