EPIC FOR INFLUENCERS (EXPLORING POTENTIAL INTERESTS & CAREERS)

EPIC For Influencers will bring youth "Influencers" including parents, grandparents, community members, anyone who helps local youth or those looking to change career paths determine their steps during and after high school or while preparing to change careers together with business leaders from all work clusters to engage in a learning opportunity regarding different career opportunities. Youth are encouraged to attend with their adult "influencer."

FAFSA INFORMATIONAL WEBINAR SERIES

The series, running February 8 through March 1, will cover general financial aid information, details on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the Minnesota Dream Act for undocumented students, and other ways to pay for college. Please click here for more detailed information.

YOUTHBUILD

Youthbuild is for youth and young adults interested in Construction. Career Solutions Minnesota Youthbuild program's purpose is to provide youth ages 16-21 with an opportunity to learn construction trades while contributing to their community. Specialized training in the building trades develops participant's construction skills while helping communities expand or improve housing for economically disadvantaged populations and the homeless.

MINNESOTA AFTERSCHOOL ADVANCE
 
Minnesota Afterschool Advance (MAA) helps Minnesota families who meet income requirements use the powerful but underutilized Minnesota K-12 Education Tax Credit to help them pay for educational afterschool programs like tutoring, music lessons, and art classes.

MAA pays 75% of the eligible education expenses for activities, up to $1,000 per child in grades K-12. For example, if an activity costs $200, we’ll pay $150, and you pay only $50! Please click here for more information.
Sartell Community Showcase - A free family friendly event. Play games and explore local businesses. It's a great day full of activities, games and entertainment for the whole family. This year it's camping themed. Saturday, February 26, 9am - 12pm. Please click here for more information.
St. Cloud Junk Junktion & Handmade Market -Junk Junktion is a vintage market! It features all things vintage, repurposed, antique, rusty, shabby, industrial, retro, hand made and lots of amazing junk and handmade items! March 11th-12th at the Rivers Edge Convention Center. Pot O'Gold Run - The Bernick's Family Fitness Series is back with its first 2022 onsite race! Join the Pot O'Gold Run on Saturday, March 12 at Riverview Intermediate School in Sartell. February 24th - Our first in this virtual series is How Dinosaurs Learned to Fly. Come explore the world of paleontology and how our new understanding has pushed dinosaurs from the dimwitted icons of extinction to an extraordinarily successful group that innovated powered flight.
March 23rd - Sentinels of the See and Sky. Join us as look to marine mammals of the sea (seals and sea lions) and to raptors of the sky (bald eagles and peregrine falcons) to learn more about our shared environment and the overall health of our ecosystems.
April 13th - Growing Up Can Be Hard to Do. Join us as we bring together baby medical experts in both the human and avian worlds and look at just what those most important development times are and what life, especially in that first year, looks like.

GREATER ST. CLOUD PUBLIC SAFETY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Public Safety Foundation is accepting applications for multiple $2,000 scholarships for: High School Seniors, College Students or Non-Traditional Students from the Tri-County area who are seeking to be first responders.

BRIAN KLINEFELTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Brian Klinefelter Memorial Scholarship was established in 1996 not only to keep Brian’s memory alive after he was killed in the line of duty, but also to support students who exemplify the type of officer that Brian was. The Brian Klinefelter Memorial Scholarship Fund provides one $1,000 scholarship to an Alexandria Technical College student who is preparing for a career in law enforcement.

In the next few days Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota (BBBS) will be sending out a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion assessment survey to current Bigs as well as Parents and Guardians of Littles.

BBBS is committed to be an inclusive organization. As such, we are seeking to develop and promote policies and programs that provide equal access and opportunity for organization volunteers, families, supporters, and team. We are committed to fostering a culture that values the diversity of every member of the BBBS community.

We will be using your feedback from the survey to help develop the infrastructure around our programming and ensure that we are providing equal access and opportunities for our BBBS community.
