Daily Schedule Change

As communicated to you by the district, the schedules at all middle schools are changing beginning on Monday, February 20. The changes being made are to ensure that we meet the number of school-year required instructional minutes for our students. An additional five minutes are being added to our daily schedule at Hamilton Middle. These minutes are being added to our Advisory class. Know that the result is that the dismissal time on Monday will be 2:45pm, and for the rest of the days of the week, 4:22pm through to the end of the school year. Linked below is our new period-by-period schedule that will be start on Monday. In addition, a reminder that May 26 is now a regular school day.

PTO Sponsored Ski Day

The PTO-sponsored family ski time at Tyrol Basin continues to be popular! The next and likely final meetup is this Friday, February 17 (6-9pm). Guessing that the snow should be great! Carpools can be organized through a google spreadsheet. Parents can add their kids' names to the google spreadsheet list and indicate whether they need a ride or can offer a ride. Reach out to Holly Gibbs-Orcutt to get the spreadsheet shared with you (hkgibbs@wisc.edu).

Madison Latino Youth Summit:

The Madison Latino Youth Summit for students in Grades 7 and 8 is scheduled to take place on March 27-28 on the UW campus. See the two link at right for more info.

Student Voice Collective Teacher Supply Drive:

We have great appreciation for anyone who would like to donate pencils, graph paper, masking tape, loose leaf paper, scissors, pens and sharpies, as those are the most needed items. We would also appreciate whiteboard markers, electric pencil sharpeners, whiteboard erasers, colored paper and cardstock, however, these items are less needed.

Please drop donations off in the library media center anytime between now and the 17th of February.

Photo Finish:

Our Hamilton Middle Fishing Club had its first outing of the year this past week: Ice fishing on Monona Bay! Thanks to Bob Wiedholz for his many years of running this club and our Outdoor Club, and to Jordan Meiller for joining Fishing Club this year as a leader. Included in the below photos are some experienced ice fishers who joined us to provide one-on-one support of each student. Lots of fish were caught!
