Welcome New Counselors!
Dear Parents:

We are still moving in and getting settled so we will be ready to open our
doors for our families and students. It is good to be home, but it it has been a real task as we continue to unpack. Our teachers are here, and they are preparing their rooms and plans to be ready to welcome our Knights.
As you may already be aware, Nancy Erickson has accepted a position in Waxahachie. We are fortunate to have two new counselors who will be working with various age groups and specializing in the needs of our students.

Ginger Story is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a private counseling practice, but she has also been a classroom teacher and a school counselor. She is an accomplished counselor with a genuine love for children.  She will be working with our students who have specific counseling needs and those who need extra attention from time to time as well as working on social emotional learning lessons for our homerooms. She is trained in Play Therapy and Sand Box Therapy, which will be a great addition for our students.

We also added Sheri Wise, a retired high school guidance counselor, who will be working here part-time as our college and career guidance counselor. She will be working with our secondary students to make sure that they are future ready. She will be meeting with students and their parents initially to complete their high school graduation plans, and she will guide our juniors every step of the way as they prepare to start college applications or to look at other career or military options next summer.

Both will provide services we have not had in the past, and we are delighted to welcome them to our staff.  We are also excited to welcome our other new staff members who are joining us this year. We can't wait for you to get to meet all of these wonderful new additions to our Trivium family!

We are excited to be back on our campus, and by next Wednesday, we will be ready to welcome our students back to campus. All of us are excited and anxious to get the new school year started. We hope to see you at the upcoming Meet the Teacher and Curriculum Nights. Welcome back to our neighborhood; it's going to be a beautiful year!

Proud to be a Knight,
Marsha Cawthon
Principal

PIE & Volunteer Background Check
One of the things we're most excited about is having our parents back on campus this school year! Get a jump start on being an approved volunteer by filling in the background check form today!

PIE (Partners in Education) is our parent volunteer group, and we're gearing up to get all our committees up and running. Joining a PIE committee is a great way to get involved at Trivium and meet other families. Information about the committees will be available at Meet the Teacher and curriculum nights (see above for dates!)

New High School Advanced Courses
We are adding four new courses to our OnRamps offerings this year. Students in high school have the opportunity to take these dual enrollment classes through the University of Texas at Austin. Our pilot course last year, College Algebra, taught by Mrs. Ram resulted in all of the eligible students receiving three hours of college credit. These students all have a UT transcript now with credit that should transfer to their selected universities in a couple of years when they head off to college.

Our OnRamps teachers go through two weeks of extensive training to be able to offer these classes to our students. We are thankful for the following teachers and their dedication to Trivium and our students, and we are excited about these new classes!

OnRamps Rhetoric (6 credit hours) - Ms. Duke
OnRamps American History (6 credit hours) - Mrs. Parker
OnRamps Physics (4 credit hours) - Mr. Ball
OnRamps Pre-calculus (3 credit hours) - Mrs. Ram

We will also be adding two new Advanced Placement (AP) courses to our high school this year. In addition to AP Human Geography and AP World History, we will be offering AP Psychology and AP Art: Design.

It's exciting to continue to see our high school program grow. It won't be long now until we have our first graduating class in 2023!
Uniforms
We require each student to have one short-sleeved navy polo with the embroidered crest. This polo and any embroidered or plaid pieces must be ordered from either Tommy Hilfiger or Lands' End. All of the other basic uniform pieces may be purchased anywhere you choose.

As you are shopping, please remember that we do not allow hoodies. You might want to purchase a sweater or jacket through one of the uniform vendors.
