Members,

As we embark on another Christmas just two days away I would like to take the opportunity to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Many of you will sacrifice your time away from your family and friends to spend time alone on the highways of the Commonwealth to protect those of us enjoying family gatherings and Christmas events. For your sacrifice, we are genuinely grateful. I know we can all get caught up in the commercialization of Christmas but I hope we can all take a moment to reflect with our families on the real meaning of Christmas. Because God Himself made a sacrifice to leave His home in heaven and to be born of a virgin to become the savior of the world. Luke Chapter 2 verse (11) For unto you is born in the city of David a Savior which is Christ our Lord. (12) And this shall be a sign to you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

God knew He would have to take on the body of man to live through the thoughts and temptations of life and remain sinless in order to be the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation. Jesus spent 33 years on earth and most of it sacrificing time away from His family, being ridiculed by the public, leaders, and being friendless at the time of His death. He then died on a cruel cross for the sins of the world as many rejected Him. He was then once again wrapped in swaddling clothing just as He came into this world, and was laid in a borrowed tomb as he was in a borrowed manger. Thank God the story didn't end there as we will soon celebrate in the spring as He arose on the third day having defeated death, Hell, and the grave.

I tell you all this so you can understand that the public, your friends, your family, and leaders will never understand why you do this job, but Jesus does! He spoke of it in His sermon on the mount in Matthew chapter 5 verse (9) Blessed is the peacemakers; for they shall be called the children of God. So all through this holiday season, you will make the sacrifice of being out doing a job that no one will understand. Remember God loved you enough to send His son to deal with the same rejection and to die so that we might be saved. That is the real meaning of sacrifice and why we should celebrate Christmas.

Merry Christmas and May God richly Bless our New Year!
