Virtual Programs

In 2022, TeamSmile will continue its partnership with the University of Buffalo Dental School and Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry to create and conduct TeamSmile Virtual Oral Health Education Presentations. Not only will children continue to learn about the importance of oral health, but they will also be receiving oral health kits to put into practice what these virtual programs are all about! These kits contain a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss (Colgate), hand sanitizer (Purell) and an oral health educational booklet. We are thrilled that DentaQuest is sponsoring the TeamSmile Virtual Oral Health Education Presentations.

Staff Spotlight
Andrea Tresner

Andrea Tresner has joined the TeamSmile staff as the Director of Education and Statistics. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist with over 20 years of experience in the dental field. She has worked in private practices, corporate offices, public health, and several educational institutions. She brings unique experiences working with children clinically as well as teaching dental assisting and dental hygiene students. She has a passion for public health and working with the underserved and travels internationally to provide dental care in other countries.

Andrea also REALLY enjoys the outdoors. She enjoys to hike, camp, and kayak. She has hiked the Inca Trail and loves to stay active. On any given weekend day, you can find her, her husband, and their two dogs enjoying a local Kansas City trail or riding her Stand Up Paddle Board with one of her dogs.

“We’re really excited to bring Andrea Tresner onto our team at TeamSmile,” said John McCarthy, TeamSmile Executive Director. “She’s a dental hygienist that has taught at Concorde and has volunteered for TeamSmile programs in the past. She enjoys volunteer work, wants to make a positive difference and she enjoys travel. What an excellent fit for TeamSmile! She’ll make a positive impact for TeamSmile and the children that we serve.”

“I have volunteered for multiple TeamSmile programs over the last several years, yet I am now looking forward to seeing the program experience through a child patient’s eyes, instead of though a dental hygiene volunteer eyes,” said Andrea Tresner. “I’m excited to see the thrill that the kids get when they come into a program.”

Errik Moore

Errik Moore has joined the TeamSmile staff as the Director of Warehouse, Equipment and Inventory. A native of Kansas City, KS, Errik Moore joined TeamSmile in January of 2022. Errik will manage the TeamSmile warehouse, equipment and supplies, and will help with the set-up & break-down of TeamSmile programs.  Having previously worked at UPS and FedEx, Errik is experienced in warehouse organization. He’s a former high school athlete, having competed in wrestling, football and track.

“Errik is a hard worker, with a bright smile and big heart,” said John McCarthy, TeamSmile Executive Director. “He’s intelligent, and he’s making TeamSmile more efficient. Errik is a really important person for TeamSmile. He’s impactful, and we’re really glad to have him as part of our TeamSmile team.”

“Working for TeamSmile has been such a blessing. I’m looking forward to being able to travel while working,” said Errik Moore. “Everyone on the staff brings positive energy and joyfulness, putting in time and effort to make sure the programs go correctly, but when you learn the real reason why TeamSmile conducts these programs, it makes you want to come to work every day. For the kids around the nation who can’t afford it, we want to make sure we give them an opportunity to get dental care. This is truly a blessing.”
