Good evening Falcon Families,
Last week was Celebrate Literacy Week with some exciting themed days including a book signing for a book illustrated by one of our own students. We also had a door decorating program that was won by Mr. Ryan's 4th period class. A number of our students visited many of the area elementary students and read books to our future falcons. A great time was had by all. Literacy is the key to all learning. Reading and writing are lifelong skills that our students will not only use in all classes, but they will take with them beyond PMHS.
Parents, please note that registration season is upon us and we want to let you know that our counselors will be meeting with students starting this week for the 2024-2025 school year. Please make sure to look through the e-mail that was sent to you last week regarding registration.
We almost at the mid-point of the second semester at PMHS. We have seen really good growth for the majority of our students and are incredibly impressed by the growth of the 9th grade students. We have seen a direct, positive correlation between attendance and academic performance. It is incredibly important for students to be on time and in class each and every day. Please partner with us to help your child achieve at the highest level by making sure your child is at school and on time.
We want to celebrate our many athletic teams who are celebrating victories at the district and regional tournaments. We wish the best to our girls weightlifters who are moving on at the regional and state level and to our boys and girls soccer teams who will continue district tournament competition this week.
We were also noticing an uptick in the appearance of cell phones during class time. Please remind your child, that there is to be NO cell phone usage during class times unless specifically directed by the teacher for instructional purposes. We are committed to protecting your child's instructional time.
Senior parents, please make sure to look through the entire newsletter as there is important information for the coming weeks. As of now, Senior Dues are open for payment. Please see the flyer below. Please also note, Senior Cap and Gown pictures will take place tomorrow in the PAC.
Please see the flyer below regarding digital IDs. These will be utilized this year for students in the media center, cafeteria, checking in and out and other school events. If your child does not have a cell phone, we do have alternative options. In addition, all students must complete the form below to access the SJCSD network and acknowledge access to the SJCSD student code of conduct.
