Dear Rondout Families, Faculty and Friends,
Happy New Year!
We hope that you are enjoying the break and have been fortunate to avoid the challenges of the rise in COVID cases. We have had word from a number of members of our Rondout community that they have been impacted by the rise in COVID cases and have either been infected with COVID or have been close contacts during the recent break. As a result, we have worked with our testing partners at Passport Health and Shield to host a special on-site testing session on Friday January 7th from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. here at Rondout for our students and staff who are on the testing roster. This mitigation effort will provide us with information prior to the students return to school on January 10th.
Please note that while CDC identified new guidelines for the public regarding COVID protocols, schools will until further notice be bound by the existing IDPH protocols for response to COVID cases previously identified by IDPH for schools until further guidance is received. More information will be sent to our parents to clarify the details of those requirements.
We were also approached by Illinois Emergency Management to provide space for a vaccination clinic for children and adults ages 5 and up. More information about this IEMA event which will be held at Rondout on January 15th ( dose 1) and February 5 ( dose 2) is available in this flyer.
Our goal is to provide the safest in-person experience that we can for all our students and faculty. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding and we prepare for the return to school. In-person learning will continue to be our goal for those who are not COVID positive. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Email is the best way to reach me during this final week of winter break.
Together we will continue to successfully provide a safe and enriching learning experience for all of our students. All the best to you and yours in 2022!
Be safe... Take care,
Until next time,
Dr. Jenny Wojcik
Superintendent
