Red Cross blood battle

USU Blood Battle vs. Weber State

is Sept. 6-9

Utah needs LOTS of silent heroes to roll up their sleeves and donate blood. Join in USU’s annual Blood Battle Sept. 6-9 from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. each day in the Taggart Student Center. Sign up for a donation slot online by entering Sponsor Code “BleedBlue.”

Grad students at USU are represented by their USU Student Association college senator, as well as a university-wide School of Graduate Studies senator. New officers for 2022-23 are Science Senator Gabriella Cale, an undergrad biology major with a chemistry minor; and Graduate Studies Senator Sarah N. Pope, a doctoral student in cognitive psychology.

Sci unwrapped Sept 2022

New Science Unwrapped Series

Premieres Sept. 23

Science Unwrapped, the college’s public outreach program, kicks off its 2022-23 “Ch-Ch-Changes” series Friday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. with ecologist and USU alum Ben Abbott in ESLC 130. Inquiring minds of all ages are welcome to this free event. We’re also seeking volunteers to conduct STEM activities. Contact Mary-Ann Muffoletto at maryann.muffoletto@usu.edu.

Hansen Retreat 2022

2022 Hansen Life Sciences Retreat

is Oct. 21-22

Mark your calendar for the 12th annual Hansen Life Sciences Retreat Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21-22, on the USU campus and at Logan’s Riverwoods Conference Center. The university-wide gathering, hosted by the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, is open to all USU students, faculty and staff involved in the study of biological processes at the molecular level. Registration and more details will be available soon.

Student Hardship Fund 2021

College of Science Offers

Student Hardship Fund

The College of Science Hardship Fund provides one-time, emergency financial assistance to students within the college who are experiencing a crisis. This fund is separate from the university’s Student Emergency Fund, from which science majors may also apply for assistance. To access the fund’s website, select “Students” from the main navigation bar on the College of Science home page and select “Student Hardship Fund” from the drop-down menu.
