Lake Geneva Middle School
Lake Geneva Middle School held its annual Veterans Day celebration this morning. The program featured patriotic music performed by the school’s seventh and eighth grade orchestras and bands, directed by Mrs. Lauren Klement and Mrs. Amanda Krause. The combined seventh and eighth grade chorus, directed by Mrs. Kim May and accompanied by Mrs. Carol Berndt, also performed. A highlight of the event was the combined performance of “God Bless America.”
Colors were posted by the Color Guard from Post 24 of The American Legion, located in Lake Geneva. Veterans who attend the program passed the microphone to introduce themselves and announce when and where they served.
Following the assembly, community members or family members of students who are veterans, spouses of veterans, or widows of veterans were invited to attend a luncheon. The lunch was prepared and served by eighth graders from Mrs. Tara Borland’s family and consumer science class.
