General Assessment Updates

The RCU website remains under construction. All directors and test coordinators should have received a Dropbox link that contains all 2022-2023 assessment documents at Test Coordinator Training. Please reach out to us via Help Desk if you are a director or test coordinator that does not have access to these resources.

Test Coordinator To-Do List

Remember to complete the following steps as you prepare for the 2022-2023 testing season:

  • Verify any rosters that have not been verified. All rosters in the RCU portal should be green and show Ready for Scheduling when this step is complete.
  • Read the Survival Guide that has been created for each national certification exam you will have and complete any steps that are possible at this point.
  • Create your testing calendar. Be sure to consider any retesting waiting periods that are specific to the national certifications that you will have. These can be found in the National Certifications Manual.

National Certification Updates

Fall Testing:

The fall national certification window is Nov. 7 to Dec. 2.

All vouchers and purchase order information for fall testing have been delivered to test coordinators. If you feel that you are missing any information, please reach out to us via Help Desk for guidance.

If your district chose to test ServSafe during the fall window, you will need to complete the ServSafe Score Import Template once fall testing is complete and submit it to the RCU via Help Desk. This template can be found here: RCU Website > Assessment > Reports > Testing Tools > ServSafe Score Import Template.

Once you have located the template, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the disc icon and download the template as an Excel file.
  2. Enter the percentage scores of the students who completed the ServSafe Food Manager exam.
  3. Submit a Help Desk ticket with the completed template attached and a screenshot of your score report from the ServSafe proctor screen.

NCCER Module Testing:

For the 2022-2023 school year, MDE requires that one of the following options be followed regarding proctoring NCCER module tests.

Option 1:

  • Any NCCER-certified proctor who is not an NCCER teacher can give a module test alone. There is no need for a second person if the proctor is not an NCCER teacher.

Option 2:

  • If an NCCER teacher proctors the module test, a second person must be in the room. This person does not have to be NCCER certified; however, a document provided to the district must be signed and filed explaining the rules of the testing environment. (The second person could be another NCCER teacher.)

Pre-PAC in Early Childhood Education:

If your district offers Early Childhood Education, your test coordinator should complete the site approval form for 2022-2023 as soon as possible. The link for this form can be found in the Pre-PAC Survival Guide.

SolidWorks:

All SolidWorks instructions have been delivered, and you should have access to download the software. If you have any trouble with this process or have not received these instructions, please submit a Help Desk ticket for guidance.
