2022 Spring Sessions on demand

If you missed the in-person Spring Convention you can still gain CME with the Spring sessions on demand. Register today, and you will have 30 days to view and evaluate for CME. At your own pace, at your own place.
Thank you to Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine's Dean Amalfitano for joining I Vaccinate on WJR Radio program "Why I Vaccinate." And thanks to the IVaccinate folks for all the amazing work they are always doing to protect our communities.
Our friends at Northern Michigan Osteopathic Association are back on "the island." A three-day conference on Mackinac Island is a great way to gain CME and kick off the summer! Visit, www.domoa.org/nmoa for online registration and more information. See you on the island!
MOPAC donations and pledges

Thank you to all who invested in their profession by donating to the Michigan Osteopathic Political Committee (MOPAC) during the House of Delegates and during Spring Convention.

Thank you to all who made pledges and have yet to donate.

For all of those who have not donated—know that donations are down, but unfortunately, the need for political action has not.

Michigan residents with COVID-19 encouraged to seek treatment options early

All individuals who test positive for COVID-19 should talk to their doctor to see if they are eligible to receive one of the COVID therapeutics.

Don’t delay, treatment must be started early to work.

The Michigan COVID-19 website includes a locator that will help people who test positive find locations where treatments are available.

Another resource is the Test to Treat program. This nationwide initiative, launched by the federal government, ensures rapid access to no-cost COVID-19 oral medications that can help reduce risk for hospitalization if someone tests positive for COVID-19 and are eligible to receive medications.

Test to Treat locations may include participating pharmacies, federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), tribal health centers, urgent care locations, primary care physicians and long-term care facilities.

Learn about Test to Treat, how to participate if you receive positive test result at home, and more

From the AOA:
DO Day 2022 participants advocate for loan repayment, telemedicine and stopping Medicare cuts
The osteopathic medical family reunited in person and virtually to advocate for patients and physicians.

During the week of April 23 – 27, 2022, the AOA held its annual DO Day conference, which combined meetings with lawmakers on Capitol Hill with a hybrid health policy conference.

More than 1,000 members of the profession participated in the virtual health policy conference, which highlighted DOs and health policy experts who discussed leadership, advocacy and engagement.

Following this, more than 300 participants from 42 states gathered in Washington, DC, to participate in the in-person advocacy portion of the event and network with affiliates, students, postdoctoral trainees and physicians in practice from their states and across the country. There, they formed delegations to discuss three very important topics with individual legislators and their staff.

2022 DO Day attendees pose for a group photo before heading to Capitol Hill to meet with legislators.
