65 years and counting, Sally

As a tribute to our 65th anniversary, we looked at the history of the industry last week. This week, we're highlighting our own company history.

Beeline and Blue's story is a testament to the power of visionary leadership, a willingness to explore technological advancements, and a commitment to quality. Our history explores the milestones and achievements of Beeline and Blue, a company that has not only witnessed but also shaped the evolution of the digital printing landscape in our region.

Des Moines Blueprint + Beeline Color Center

In 1958, Clyde and Beth Ainsworth took over a small business called Des Moines Blueprint. They grew their business from a two-room blueprint operation into a profitable business. They eventually brought in their son, Leonard Ainsworth, who took over the business in 1983. In 2010, the role passed to Leonard’s son Trent who now oversees daily operations at Beeline and Blue.

You may not know that Beeline Color Center began as a traditional photo lab, developing film and printing high-quality photographic images. As digital printing advanced in quality to rival traditional photo quality, Beeline embraced the technology and bridged into a hybrid of digital and analog Photo Lab printing.

With a foundation in photographic printing, Beeline Color Center established a reputation for attention to detail and exceedingly high-quality printing.

Des Moines Blueprint and Beeline Color Center continued to grow to become industry leaders, eventually merging into one entity, Beeline and Blue.

From our beginning as a small blueprinting company, we have read the trends and diversified into an impressive array of services in Wide and Narrow Format Printing, Digital Color, Fine Art and Décor, and printers for the Construction industry.
