The Challenge
Across the City of Tulsa there is a growing need for additional housing of all types including:
Emergency shelter - short term, temporary lodging for people experiencing homelessness.
Transitional - temporary housing to help people transition from homelessness to a permanent home
Permanent supportive - affordable housing that includes support services for those being housed
Affordable - housing with subsidy to cover what the household can afford versus the market rate
Market-rate - renter or owner-occupied housing with no subsidy
Mayor Bynum said, "The City will prioritize our resources toward those types of housing that represent the greatest need: transitional, supportive and affordable housing. And we expect our partners in tribal governments, Tulsa County and the State of Oklahoma to play an important part too. Working together, we can unlock the creativity and ingenuity of Tulsans to make a significant difference."
