Halloween Fun at Hyland Hills
More than 1500 people attended the Halloween Spooktacular at Adventure Golf & Raceway on October 29th.

The costumes were amazing, and the traditional interdepartmental pumpkin carving contest yielded some seriously great entries.

Ultimately, it was the Administration Department’s Guardians of the Galaxy entry that came out on top by garnering the most votes from Spooktacular participants!

The awardees included Derek Thede, Alex Partridge, John Navant, Andrew Larghe, David Jack, Noel Williams, Nick Huffer, Dana Gordon, Carolyn Vine, Corey Schmidt, Mike Romero, Chris Robson, Mike Tilger, Nicole Knight, Betsy Scally, Keith Desmarteau and Yvonne Fischbach. Wrestling for 1st-8th Grade!
There is still time to sign up for the Hyland Hills Junior Wrestling program. Practices started on November 10th, but you can still sign your student up as the season goes all the way through March 4, 2022. The Colorado Wrestling Academy and Pinnacle Charter School have partnered with the District to offer this program which is designed to provide a wrestling knowledge base to young athletes. Wrestling is different from many other sports. Individual strength and hard work is met with team unity and sportsmanship. Wrestling is great for any youth looking for a challenge, both physically and mentally, while having fun with coaches and peers. Wrestlers compete according to their weight, age, and experience level. Pinnacle students are eligible to receive a substantially discounted price! Sign up today at hylandhills.org or hylandhillsathletics.com.
Please remember the Hyland Hills Foundation on Colorado Gives Day, December 7, 2021. For 28 years, this all-volunteer Foundation has been raising money to support recreation and cultural opportunities for kids in the Hyland Hills community. One hundred percent of all funds raised are used to help young people experience and reap the benefits of recreational activity and sportsmanship. The funds are used for recreational scholarships to ensure no child gets turned away from a sport due to their family’s financial circumstance. Additionally, the Foundation has funded FREE swimming lessons for area kids through the Be-A-Fish Learn to Swim program, which has already provided more that 12,000 local kids the life-saving skill of swimming. Thanks for your generosity!
Water World Wins Again!

Pictured above are Hyland employees Justin Schuvie, Joann Cortez and Bob Owens, Director of Water World, who accepted an award from the World Waterpark Association in October, where Water World was honored with a Wave Review Award for this season’s radio commercial. The award is significant because the judging considers entries from all around the globe. The award follows the park’s Top Ten World Waterparks designation by Amusement Today Magazine earlier in October which tracks all types of entertainment facilities around the world. In that global judging, Water World came in at a distinguished No. 5!
