New Year, New Beginnings.

You should be so proud! Because of loyal supporters like you, homeless pets in our community have shelter. Dogs and cats who are hungry have food. Cats who were breeding are now spayed. And the loneliest pets? They have families…and love!

Entering 2024, we must continue rescuing, protecting, and adopting hungry, hurt, and homeless animals.

Because of you, the shelter’s lights will be on, and doors will open to the neediest animals during winter's coldest days.

We need your help keeping our 2024 Resolutions!

This winter, we RESOLVE to:

I am asking you to continue your support for 2024.

Your gift of $65, $45, $25, or any amount will help save more

vulnerable pets like Tiver and Mittens.

Tiver loves the warmth of the fireplace.

Mittens zooms around on healed paws.

Day in and day out, Tiver was chained outside in the brutal winter and sweltering heat. People would come and go from a warm house just 30 feet from where her chain ended. Sometimes, they would say, “Good girl,” but often, she was ignored. She delivered her adorable puppies inside her doghouse with a chain around her neck. With limited access to water, inadequate food, and a flimsy plastic wall to block the cold wind, Tiver and her pups were in grave danger.

Thankfully, someone noticed and convinced the owners to allow her to bring the dogs to the shelter. At WCHS, they received fluids, nourishing food, and a chance to find families that would let them sleep on a warm rug by the fire.

Mittens was a nightly guest at a local restaurant. She waited for the cooks to open the kitchen door and put some scraps out. By the time she was three years old, she had outlasted at least two cooks and had birthed a baker’s dozen.

On a cold night, she didn’t approach the kitchen door. She lay alone by the dumpster until a cook noticed and went to check on her. Her fur was singed. Her paws were burnt and infected.

Thankfully, he brought her to WCHS. At WCHS, Mittens’ wounds were cleaned, and she received antibiotics and a chance to start a new life as an indoor cat!

Kick 2024 off with a donation!

See the incredible life-and-death difference you made?

With so much at stake, you can see why I’ve resolved to help more.

Here’s why your gift is so important right now:

We’re preparing for a new year, and the truth is, we can never know just who or what will come to our doors. At any moment, we could meet a dog who needs extensive (and expensive!) surgery…. a litter of malnourished kittens fighting to survive…even a heartbroken family who can’t keep their beloved pets.

Thank you for starting 2024 off on the right paw!
