On Saturday, April 15, a wonderful group of volunteers from the University of North Texas, with the help and guidance of our Build Committee volunteers, spent the day painting a vintage Habitat home in need of a fresh coat of paint. The homeowner was very thankful and praised God the entire day for their help!

Community Spotlight: Mark Gribbin, Build Committee Member and Brush with Kindess Leader
|
Our Brush with Kindness program, highlighted above, could not be successful without the support of our amazing volunteers. One volunteer in particular, a dedicated member of our Build Committee, graciously stepped up to lead our Brush with Kindness efforts this spring. Mark Gribbin has put in dozens of hours preparing for our Brush with Kindness projects. His preparation includes recruiting volunteers to power wash the home ahead of time, gathering supplies, meeting with Habitat staff, and preparing all materials - not to mention leading the beautiful painting done on the day-of! We are so grateful for his hard work and willingness to help with this important program. Thank you, Mark, for your leadership, support, and servant heart!

We are raising funds to develop 8 acres of vacant land in Southeast Denton and establish a new "Habitat Village" housing development on the property. As many as 35 new affordable homes will be built alongside local families in need via this development. This project involves developing the infrastructure of this neighborhood, including the streets, sidewalks, utilities, proper drainage requirements, and everything else needed to support a neighborhood of 35 homes.
