Dear Meher Center Family and Friends,
A loving Jai Baba to all. Meher Center is happy to announce that we will be open for day visitors beginning Monday, March 7. The Center will be available for day visitation from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
As you are no doubt aware, conditions around the country have changed rapidly in the past two weeks regarding the Covid virus. Not only have infection levels continued to drop in the US, but also the CDC has developed a new system for gauging the severity of the virus within each community. For instance, a little over a week ago in Horry County, the risk level for unvaccinated people was ‘very high,' and for vaccinated people was ‘high.' Based on this information, the board decided to continue limiting day visits.
A few days after this decision, the CDC announced new guidelines, which are referred to as ‘Community Levels.' In the past week, based on this new framework, Horry County has moved from a risk level of ‘moderate’ to a risk level of ‘low.'
This is wonderful news for all of us. Over the coming weeks, we will be working on ways of gradually reopening the Center to its full use. The virus is still with us, although to a much lesser degree, and some of our companions (the immunocompromised, elderly, and very young) remain at risk. Therefore, these steps for reopening will be taken with great care.
In this week’s offering, we share with you highlights from Meher Center’s virtual celebration of Meher Baba’s birthday. Many thanks to Charles Haynes, Wendy Connor, Adrienne Shamszad and Anna Lena Phillips Bell for sharing their open-hearted love for God with us all.
In Baba’s love and service,
Buz Connor
