Seven-year-old David had been in three different foster homes in less than a year, and now they moved him again. His CASA volunteer knocked on the door of his latest home. The new foster mom answered and called out to David, “There’s someone here to see you.” When he came to the door, David looked up into his volunteer’s eyes, and a huge smile broke across his face. With a touch of awe in his voice, he said, “you found me.”

There are thousands of children in Michigan like David; children who have done nothing wrong but are in foster care because the adults in their lives have failed them.

Michigan CASA is responsible for supporting a state network of CASA programs in 30 counties. Michigan CASA ensures the programs collaborate and share knowledge. We help them recruit, train and support a growing cadre of local volunteers who “find” Davids in their communities and walk alongside them as they journey through a vast, confusing, and often-impersonal system.

Michigan CASA is also charged with reaching into new communities and working with them to establish a CASA program for their children. This year, we are targeting Macomb, Jackson, and Calhoun Counties, which, collectively, have an estimated 900 children in foster care because of abuse and neglect.

Please help this year by donating to Michigan CASA. We know there are thousands of children, like David, waiting for their CASA volunteer--for their friend and champion. Together, we can find them.

Warm Regards,
