The end of a school year is one of the most appropriate times to reflect.
“I’ll never make that mistake again,” whispered the second grader who worked out that 9 + 9 = 18, not 19.
While lessons learned stick with us, not every moment of this year played out the way we might have hoped. As Christians, we count on God’s goodness.
“By one sacrifice Jesus has made perfect forever those who are being made holy” (Hebrews 10:14).
In a way, the second grader shared the sentiments of this verse. We too can admit that we “are being made holy,” implying that you and I are not finished yet. And notice what the author said first. You and I are already perfect in the eyes of God our Father.
By his grace and favor, 525 new teachers, mentors, and administrators opened the doors and challenged students to grow academically. From God’s Word, we taught the character traits that prepare students to lead lives of service that make the people and places around them better. Most important, from that same Word of God, we and our students heard again and again of God’s love and his plan of salvation through his son Jesus Christ.
God has poured out his favor on us.
