PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

The Tennessee CFAR Training Program for BIPOC/URM High School and Undergraduate Students

The Tennessee CFAR CDEIPI program is led by John Koethe, MD, MSCI and Chandravanu Dash, PhD. Click here for more information on the leadership team.

This program builds on Vanderbilt’s Collaborative for STEM Education and Outreach high school programs that were expanded to have an HIV research focus. In addition, the program provides a 10-week summer research training program for undergraduates focused on virology and career development in the HIV field. This program leverages the existing partnerships between Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University and aims to increase the number of URM and BIPOC trainees engaged in HIV-focused research
