Calling All Graduates

graduate

Our celebration of youth ministry and baccalaureate service will be Sunday, 14 May 2023. We'll recognize all high school and college graduating seniors that morning and our high school graduating seniors will be preaching at the 8.30 and 11.00 Masses that morning.

One of the ways we celebrate this important milestone for our high school and college graduates is to put together a graduate profile that we show on the narthex screens and include in that Sunday's Mass bulletin. We would like all graduates to complete the questionnaire and upload a picture of themselves as well as the logos of their graduating high school (or college) and the logo of the school they plan to attend. The deadline for submission is coming up soon: we need all submissions by midnight on Wednesday, 3 May. During the 11.00 Mass we'll invite all graduates to come forward to receive a special blessing and gift from the parish. Contact Father Tripp if you have any questions or need help with the questionnaire or picture/logo uploads (770-888-4464 x 8001 or via email).

>> Submission deadline is Wednesday, 3 May 2023

End of the Year Luau

Sunday, 21 May

*** COMBINED MASS AT 11.00 AM ***

Hula on over on Sunday 21st May for our first ever PARISH LUAU! We'll celebrate our Sunday school teachers and a great year of formation. 5/21 will be our last day of Sunday school (which will begin at 10am on 5/21) and then after our combined Mass, we'll have a parish luau on the lawn. We'll have luau games, a slide show showing highlights from the school year, enjoy some great food prepared by the Knights of Columba, and bask in the fellowship of fellow church friends. All are invited - bring your family, friends, neighbors. It's going to be a 'hula of a time!'

If you'd like to help with the luau food or celebration, contact Kristen Weems or Dale Humphries (luau@saintcolumba.net). If you'd like to help with the video/slide show presentation, contact Jason Startt or Father Tripp.

If you have pictures from any parish event or church service, we'd love to include them. Upload any photos or video clips you may have from this past year in the shared St Columba's Luau folder. Click Here.

Don't Forget:

*** We will combine the 8.30 & 11.00 Masses

into one Mass at 11.00 am on 5/21 ***

Parish News

Food Pantry Ministry Update

AMAZING … and THANK YOU ! In response to a recent Urgent Appeal, parishioners at St. Columba’s gave a total of 536 items in March to the Pantry at The Place. This is the highest monthly total ever recorded for this Outreach activity. While the urgency has waned, the need has not. As you can, please continue to bring in to the Narthex food and non-food items to support the 300+ families (2,000 individuals) The Place feeds each week. Most needed items include canned meat, fruit, and vegetables; PB&J, spaghetti noodles & sauce, sugar and flour (<2 lb bags), cooking oil, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, diapers (adult & baby), feminine hygiene items and cleaning supplies. If you have any questions regarding this outreach activity, please contact Tom Dillon (tommlaura@yahoo.com). Thank you again for your continued generosity.

The Pacesetters invite you to their next outing which will be to Stoney J's Winery on Saturday, 6th May. Stoney J's is a beautiful setting and home to Forsyth County's first winery! All are welcome. To join the group or for more information, contact Mary Helen Johnson hmjmhj@bellsouth.net
