From the Church Office

Scam/Phishing Emails

We're so sorry for the inconvenience or confusion that the recent email scam from Pastor Matt may have caused! Remember, Pastor Matt and church staff will never ask you to buy gift cards or send money anywhere other than the church office or offering plate. Authentic messages from church staff will all have stmarkslutheran.net after the @, not gmail, yahoo, etc. When in doubt, don't engage and call the church office with questions.

If you received a scam email claiming to be from Pastor Matt and are a gmail user, you can report it and help us keep it from happening to someone else. When you login to your gmail account on a computer and open the email in question, gmail will give you 3 little dots at the top right of the email to access more options. On that dropdown menu, click "report phishing" to flag this abuse so it won't keep happening from this fake address. (See image below) You can also report it to gmail using this form.

Updated Name Tags

As you prepare for worship this Sunday, you will notice that there are new nametags displayed on the board in the commons! If you are someone that takes their nametag with them, please bring the plastic sleeve to church with you and you will find your new one displayed. If there has been an oversite and your name is misspelled or your tag is missing, please contact Danielle in the church office or write a note and put it in the offering.

Thank you to our trusty Wednesday volunteers for tackling this daunting task!

Help Save a Life: Support Code Purple

With the extreme cold weather this week, shelter is a matter of life and death. ABCCM operates 115 emergency shelter beds at two locations on nights when the temperature dips below freezing, even sending out vans to seek out those in need of shelter. This life-saving work only happens with the volunteer support of area churches, with most volunteer shifts being a couple hours in the mornings or evenings. Can you help? Register for the training this weekend using the link below.
