The NASD Transportation Department and the NA Health & Safety Committee invite students to participate in the North Allegheny School Bus Safety Poster Contest. All posters collected by NASD representatives will be submitted to PennDOT for the National School Bus Safety Week Poster Contest. PennDOT will enter the five first-place winning posters from the state competition into the National School Bus Safety Week Poster Contest. This year’s theme is “Safely Rolling to My Destination.”

NASD Academics

Elementary Special Area Class Grades

There are only three marking indicators used to reflect elementary student progress in Special Area Classes (including Art, Library, Music, and Physical Education). These letter grades do not reflect an accumulation of points or the more traditional grading methodologies used in other core subject areas. They reflect a cumulative evaluation of skills and exercises over the course of the grading period. The marking indicators are:

  • S = Strength
  • P = Appropriate Progress
  • N = Needs Improvement

Full details about elementary special area class grades can be found on our website.
