The City of Bowling Green is currently accepting applications for several open positions. Interested applicants may review current Job Postings and the Application Process on the City's website.
In order to be considered for a position, an individual must complete the City Application. The application must be completed and returned to the Human Resources Department by the deadline established in the advertisement. Résumés alone are not acceptable; however, a résumé may be returned with a completed application. You may also obtain an application packet by visiting the Human Resources Department during regular business hours, which are 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. It is acceptable to return a completed application via email, by fax, by mail, or by hand-delivery.

Introduction to Historic Preservation Tax Credits
Have you ever thought about improving your historic building? Want to learn how to renovate your historic building and save some money in the process? The Bowling Green Historic Preservation Commission invites the community to an Introduction to Historic Preservation Tax Credits. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023 at 12:00 p.m., located in the Council Chambers at the City Administration Building (304 N. Church Street).
The presentation is in partnership with Ohio History Connection, the state historic preservation office (SHPO). Sam DeCillis and Nathan Bevil, from Ohio History Connection, will present what the tax credits entail, who is eligible for them, and the process of applying for them. Sam will provide an introduction to the state and federal tax credit programs, explaining the qualifying criteria for historic properties, and describing the three-part application process. Nathan will delve into the Secretary of Interior Standards for Rehabilitation and the Basic Submission Requirements, explaining what changes can be made to a property, the common mistakes that are made, and the SHPO Reviewer’s role in the application process.

2023 Tree Commission
Photo Contest
The City of Bowling Green Tree Commission has announced its 6th annual photo contest. The Commissioners want to raise awareness of Bowling Green’s Urban Forest that is found both on public and private property.
In 2023, we are asking citizens to submit photos highlighting trees in all four seasons of the year: winter, spring, summer, and fall.
The contest runs through October 31, 2023. In November, the public will vote for the top photo in each category. The top photo will receive a $25 gift certificate from a local nursery or garden center.
