State Includes Catholic School Funding in Budget Proposal

Click Here if You'd like to Join the NYS Catholic Conference in Thanking Governor Hochul for Funding Catholic Schools

Your voices have been heard.

Last week, the New York State Catholic Conference Issued an "action alert," requesting write-in requests to Governor Kathy Hocul to include funding in her state budget proposal for the Nonpublic School Aid program.

The alert prompted than 4,000 emails to fully fund the program, which obliges the state to to fully reimburse nonpublic schools for costs associated with mandated services like attendance, and administering and scoring state tests.

Governor Hochul is now proposing sufficient funds to not only restore the four percent cut from last year, but to ensure full reimbursement this coming year.

Lawler Makes History

Congratulations to Georgia Military College Service Academy Program Cadet Morgan Lawler '23, who has received her appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. She becomes the GMC's first USMA appointment of the year, and AHN's first-ever! Way to go, Cadet Lawler!

Pizza Fundraisers for Middle School Trip

A big thank you to our friends and the staff at Romo's Pizza and Restaurant for hosting our eighth graders on Wednesday. A portion of sales was donated to help the class raise money for its field trip to Washington D.C. Staff even pitched in and bought raffle tickets for our nifty swag basket!

Don't worry if you missed out. You'll have another chance to help the class out, this time at Spinners in Albany on Monday, February 12 from noon to 9 p.m.

Bring a copy of this digital flyer with your order. 20% of proceeds from sales during that time will be donated.
