Students, we want to hear from you! This semester, Lee College is offering offer 20 students the opportunity to inform us about their experiences and perceptions at Lee College. Participants who complete a virtual orientation and at least four out of six virtual discussions in February through May will receive a $500 scholarship. 2024 is a huge year for us as Lee College turns 90 years old! On February 24,1934, residents in the area voted to 538 to 198 to create a college which would soon become Lee Junior College. The doors officially opened on September 3,1934 with 177 students enrolled in the first class. Our milestone anniversary will be featured front and center in the next edition of "Polaris" magazine in February. Students, would you like an opportunity to earn while you learn? Apply to become a Student Worker in the Federal Work Study program. Every department offers various work hours. You can work around your school schedule at the rate of $10-13/hour up to 17.5 hours a week. To be eligible for a job on campus, you must have a 2.0 GPA, be enrolled in at least six credit hours this semester and be at least 17 years old. Attention students! Did you know Lee College has an international travel program where you can get the chance to travel and learn abroad? The college recently held its first International Travel expo in the Rundell Conference Center to share the exciting news. Attendees sampled foods from a variety of nations and heard from a panel of international students about their experiences. This May students have an opportunity to receive scholarships to travel to Portugal, France and Peru. Visit the International Education web page for more information.
