The Heart of a Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce will be having a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the Re-Opening and Open House of the McClain County Museum!

Ribbon Cutting: 5:30pm

Open House: 5:00pm - 8:00pm

Papito's will provide tamales. The Belle Starr Saloon will provide two custom drinks made just for the event at our Sand Bar Saloon.
Bud Hardcastle will have a book signing for his new book “The Hoax That Let Jesse James Live”.

Come take a tour and learn some history about our great county!

The Southwest Oklahoma Regional Transportation Planning Organization (SORTPO) in 2021 began development of the 20-year long range regional transportation plan for southwest Oklahoma. Counties included in this planning process include Beckham, Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Custer, Grady, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Jefferson, Kiowa, McClain, Roger Mills, Stephens, Tillman, and Washita. Upon completion this plan will address future road, freight, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian needs for southwest Oklahoma. Your response is important so the needs of this region can be identified. 

The survey period is extended through June 16, 2022 to allow additional time to collect surveys.
