Holiday Travel
While not specifically related to the holidays, officers with the Lakeway Police Department will be stepping up patrols through Christmas on Highlands Boulevard, specifically near Duffy Lane. Other locations and dates related to increased patrol will be released in the near future. This will be an ongoing program where officers will increase patrol efforts in areas where the community has reached out about traffic concerns, and where data supports an increased police presence. Officers will be on the lookout for speeding, cell phone, seat belt and red light violations, along with DWIs.

Many will be traveling this weekend and next week for the holidays. Be sure your vehicle is properly maintained before heading out on an extended road trip. Eliminate distractions in your car and stay within posted speed limits. If you expect to consume alcohol, be sure to plan ahead and have a designated driver or take other forms of transportation like a rideshare service. The City of Lakeway wants you to be safe on the roadways this holiday season!

If you drop off your tree outside these times, place the tree near the front gate, but please do not block the entrance. Also, please remove lights and decorations beforehand. Waste Connections customers may place the tree on the curb (cut in three-foot sections) for trash pick-up through Jan. 21.
