Hello Everyone and Happy New Year!
I sit here on New Year's Eve afternoon in a house that is now quiet after a wonderful week of having all my children and their significant others home for the Christmas Holiday. I could not have asked for a better holiday and a week at home just enjoying my family, cooking and baking for them, seeing how they have grown and become pretty cool adults. Makes me feel good, as a mom, to see that they are happy and finding their way in the world.
As I sit here reflecting on the last year at Sweet Stitches, I can't help but think about all we accomplished with our move to the new shop and how much we have grown too. Having a business is a lot like raising children. You make it your priority, you nurture it, you give it everything it needs to succeed and you put it out there into the world to make a difference in people's lives. It's all a reflection of how you brought it up, how you raised it to be better and do more than you could have ever hoped. We are so proud of our Sweet Stitches Family. They make work fun and they have helped us grow as people and a business. No one really does it alone. We all need each other to become better. We all need support to grow and that is what all of you, our customers and friends, have been to us through the past 5 years that we have been in business. Just a big quilting family supporting and encouraging each other to go out into the world and make a difference.
We are celebrating the 5 year anniversary of Sweet Stitches Quilt Shop on January 3. It's hard to believe it's been that long and at the same time it feels like it was yesterday we opened those doors for the first time. So much has happened in 5 short years and it has gone so fast but that's how it goes when you're raising them to be more, to be better - they grow up and they become more than you ever hoped for.
Happy New Year Everyone, may it be a happy and healthy one for you and yours!
May all your Stitches be Sweet,
Joan

Hello Accuquilters!
This year, Go! Play Days! will explore new borders! Each month throughout 2022, Darla will present a new idea for a pieced border to add zip to our quilts. This is a great way to become more comfortable with using an AccuQuilt cutter, improving your piecing skills, and be more creative (or daring!) with color and fabric choices. With every class we will learn a new trick, tip, or way to fool the eye. At the end of the year, all 12 monthly borders can be combined to complete a twin size quilt top!
An 8” Qube set is recommended for this series of classes, but any size Qube can perform with minor adjustments; Darla is here to help with that. No Qube? No problem! Many of the borders can be completed with basic shapes you may already have in your collection.
If you happen not to start with us in January, you may still join at any time during the year. Come to class expecting to try something new. Only $5 reserves your seat. Can't make every Go Play Day? Don't worry you can come into the shop and pick up a written pattern for the month you missed for $5.00.

General Maintenance and proper technique are critical for optimum performance of your sewing machine and project outcome.
Dear Snow Quilters,
For many quilters, winter is the time to put their full creative energy toward quilting. The garden must wait for spring, and with fewer trips out of the house, the sewing machine is running routinely again. As a reminder for all of our Snow Quilters, be sure to fully clean and add a drop or two of sewing machine oil to your hook race at least once per month while the machine is regularly used.
If your machine has not been serviced in a while, you might consider dropping it off to the shop. In less than a week your machine will be cleaned, oiled and tuned providing for smooth operation all winter long.
