Do you ever realize you have a tendency to return to some of your “same old ways” even as you love and treasure Christ?
For the last couple of weeks, we have been celebrating the light within us and the light that guided the wise men to Baby Jesus after His birth. We are people of the light! Our call is to live in joy and peace and reconciliation with God and others and then share all that with the world. Why is that not our everyday reality then?
This weekend in worship we will acknowledge the darkness. Yes, there are things around us that anger, threaten, and/or bring us down: politics, broken relationships, horrible drivers on Mopac . . . But also, and more importantly, there are evils within each of us. We struggle with stubborn sin. We sometimes fail to make the right decision. Our hearts are often not what they should be . . .
There is good news! Our faith gives us certain tools to train us again and again and again (and AGAIN) in godliness. Join us this weekend as we learn how to walk in faith, embrace Christ’s light daily, and shine it in the darkness.
We’ll see you in worship!
P.S. Don't forget Sunday's Discernment Session #1: 5:00-7:00pm in the Worship Center. We will begin our time in prayer and remember that each of us bears the light of Christ.
