Lou Brien

Strategist / Knowledge Manager, DRW

Lou Brien has been with DRW for almost a quarter century. From his position at the company, as Strategist/Knowledge Manager, Lou keeps an eye on the Fed in particular and the economy in general. He likes to say that he looks behind the headlines to examine the finer points of the data in order to not only know where the economy is, but where it is going. Lou is a 1978 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, with a degree in American Studies, which is not an obvious training ground for a career in finance, but Lou figures that forty years on the job has been a decent apprenticeship.

April Heitz

Lead Research Analyst, DRW

April Heitz is the Lead Research Analyst at DRW. At DRW, she specializes in equity derivates and has over a decade of experience working in the proprietary trading industry. Before embarking on a career in finance, April worked in the Structural Engineering industry doing structural design for HDR. She is an active member of 100 Women in Finance and was Chair of the Chicago Committee in 2020. April also is an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University Chicago, teaching graduate course work for the Master of Science in Finance program. When not working, April enjoys rock climbing and hiking. She received an MS in Finance from Loyola University Chicago and a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
