Commercial Photography Students Meet with An-My Lê at her MoMA Exhibition

On December 7th, students from Professor Maureen Drennan's Color Photography class had the opportunity to meet with acclaimed photographer An-My Lê, featured in the Museum of Modern Art's "An-My Lê: Between Two Rivers" exhibition, which runs through March 16. After exploring the exhibition, students engaged in a Q&A session with Lê, asking questions about her life, artistic process, and experiences as a large-format photographer. Born in Saigon, Lê’s family had to leave Vietnam in 1975. She went on to earn her MFA from the Yale School of Art. As a Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellow, her work addresses themes of war, the military, and U.S. race and immigration issues through her photography. A Bard College photography professor, Lê has connected with LaGuardia students before, having spoken and reviewed student work here in the past.
