Dear Parents,

Welcome back!

Please see below for news of the week and upcoming events, but first I wanted to inform you of some staff changes as we transition to the second half of the year (the Second Quarter ends January 20).

Karen Kirlin (who graciously agreed to fill in as a long term sub when we were in a pickle earlier this year) will be leaving us on January 13.Thank you, Mrs. Kirlin, for being there when we needed you. Maggie Scheeler will be joining the Fourth Grade team. Ms. Scheeler (nee O’Boyle) graduated from Blessed Sacrament and has years of experience as a teacher in Catholic schools in the area. We welcome her home and look forward to her joining the staff.

Dr. Joy Stevans submitted her resignation and will also be leaving us as the Second Quarter ends. Her last day will be January 20. Ms. Jeanette Berry, a local music teacher and vocalist will be taking over as Music teacher. Ms. Berry has experience in elementary Music education, choir, dance instruction and vocal performances. We wish Dr. Joy the best in her next endeavors and look forward to welcoming Ms. Berry on board as well.

The busyness of the holiday season is over but we’ve still got a lot going on here. On Wednesday, we celebrated as a school with a Mass to celebrate St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Today, we closed out the Christmas season of celebrations with a Santa Lucia performance in the church by our Kindergartners.

Our re-enrollment for next year opens on Monday and on Tuesday we have our final Open House for new families. We have already received a lot of interest in spaces for next year and we anticipate even more after the Open House. Please be sure to complete re-enrollment by the deadline (January 27) so that we can accurately assess our openings for next year.

Stay tuned next week for details about Catholic Schools Week at the end of January.
